Worms In The Wind

"Worms In The Wind" is a song that only exists in live bootlegs. And Jeff would only play about 40 seconds of it... just a little "excerpt" he'd play as an intro to "King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 2". It's unclear if the song was ever finished and recorded. Jeff has mentioned it's a song about the earth losing all its gravity, and things therefore just up and flying away, starting with worms.

Also Known As
"Worms" (shortened title. This is likely the "official" title of the song, though fans usually refer to it by the longer name)

Available
A few bootlegs, with the most common being 4/12/98 SF and 4/3/98 New Orleans.

Live
Apparently played at most NMH shows during April 1998. That's it.

Lyrics

And the worms in the wind are beginning to blow
Baby brother gives in and we watch as he goes
Through a hole in the night that's as white as a sheet
As all the beautiful people go floating up over the street

And we once had a home that was hurling through space
And the gravity held all our houses in place
(...But not anymore)

{alternate early version}
And the worms in the wind are beginning to blow
And all the animals bend and we watch as they go
Through a hole in the night that's as white as a sheet
As all the beautiful people go floating up over the street
